Play the Game
You’ll learn what goes on behind the scenes to stay grounded as a competitive gamer: mindfulness and keeping your head under pressure, resilience and learning from mistakes, and the discipline behind developing your skill in the game.
The Next Gen Streamer Academy invests in young men who want to build a real presence in gaming, and become role models worth following.
Applications are open July 20-Aug 7, 2026. Open to masculine-identifying gamers ages 18-25 in Canada. Cohort runs Sept 2026-Feb 2027.

We invest in you, not the other way around with a curriculum that goes beyond the game to lead a positive shift in gaming culture.
Next Gen Streamer Academy runs online over six months. You’ll have a short live training every week and a resource portal open 24/7 to access resources and tools. Our curriculum is built on four pillars:
You’ll learn what goes on behind the scenes to stay grounded as a competitive gamer: mindfulness and keeping your head under pressure, resilience and learning from mistakes, and the discipline behind developing your skill in the game.
You’ll develop your sense of self as an on-camera performer: how to be charismatic and engaging while still being authentic to who you are—ultimately creating a streaming style that people want to spend time with.
You’ll build an audience that looks after its people using our Systems of Care model and pro-social moderation principles to structure your Twitch, Discord or wherever else you plan to foster community.
You’ll become someone worth looking up to: how to carry influence with responsibility, what to know about the online harms boys face, and how to consistently role model positive masculinity in gaming culture.
Next Gen Streamer Academy comes from Next Gen Men, a Canadian nonprofit that has been leading the way in online community building with boys since 2020. We build all of our digital programming on the same foundation: the Systems of Care model:
Join a cohort with clear norms and no judgment, plus the tools to keep your own stream and community safe.
Find your voice and get seriously good at the craft of competitive streaming.
Build real relationships with peers and mentors, and start growing an audience alongside ours.
Take ownership of your own brand and start showing up for others, leading a positive shift for the boys watching you.
We’re looking for competitive gamers who want to become successful content creators—and positive role models for the next generation of men.
Open to masculine-identifying gamers ages 18-25 in Canada. Participation is paid. Questions? Reach us at info@nextgenmen.ca.
